NFW-Intro: Introduction to myCourses (1 hour)
Introduction to the various uses of myCourses course management system. See different courses and how instructors can use the various tools. Hands-on practice customizing and navigating the environment. (The content of this session is the same as FITS-4; register for either.)
NFW-C: Managing Content in myCourses (1.5 hours)
The curriculum will cover the basics of logging on and navigating myCourses ; an overview of the interface, tools and how to add them, customizing the course, adding a syllabus, posting announcements, and tips for troubleshooting. A brief introduction to the file management system and content tools will enable posting handouts and web links.
NFW-G: Managing Grade Book in myCourses (1 hour)
Managing the student grade book in myCourses, adding columns, adding grades, calculating averages, setting student access to grade book. Tracking student use of course content and performance records. Tracking the use of individual content pages.

NFW-TA: GA/TA Jump Start (1 hour)
A special workshop to introduce TAs and GAs to the Gradebook, Mail & Calendar, Assessments, Assignments, and Discussions tools. Focus is on assisting professors to manage courses.
These Web Course Tools workshops are for faculty who want to learn to use myCourses (Blackboard Learning Systems) to provide course enhancements or fully Web-based courses. The 10 hands-on workshops may be completed in any order after the Introduction to myCourses session. The set of three online workshops are an alternate and equivalent option for those who prefer self-directed learning. You may attend both face-to-face workshops and online modules concurrently if desired.
All faculty intending to sign up for the Online Instructor Certification Series must successfully complete the entire BLS series.
If you are interested in completing BLS by way of the online modules, please register for a hands-on Introduction to myCourses session and the online modules below. If you need (because of scheduling conflicts) to request individualized, in-your-office visits, please email mmcculler@sfasu.edu to make appointments.

The Certified Online Instructor (COI) Certification Series is for faculty who wish to become a Certified Online Instructor. The following should be completed in the order listed:

3. Web Course Design (WCD) Community (eight modules).

SAMS-P1 - Photoshop Elements (2 hours) Learn the basics of Photoshop Elements; includes opening images, resizing images and canvases, basics of image adjustment (brightness, contrast, color replacement), layers, and navigating the tool bars.
