Setting Netscape Navigator to be compatible with WebCT 4.1

1. Enable Java

1. Select Edit then choose Preferences

2. Select Advanced from the left-hand pane 3. Make sure the Enable Java and Enable JavaScript boxes are checked 4. Click OK

2. Set Browser Cache to Always Reload a Page - Pre 3.7 Only

1. Select Edit then choose Preferences

2. Click the + sign or arrow next to Advanced to view more options 3. Select Cache 4. Select the Every Time radio button at the bottom 5. Click OK

3. Enable Cookies

You may need to enable cookies in order to log in to WebCT.

1. Select Edit then choose Preferences

2. Click on the arrow next to Privacy & Security in the left-hand pane then select Cookies 3. Select Enable cookies for the originating website only 4. Click OK

4. Disable Pop-up Killers

While using WebCT, if you are unable to view Discussion postings, Quiz windows, and download links, then disable pop-up killers or ad-blockers on your system.

Pop-up killer applications work in the background while you browse the internet. When they detect a pop-up window that may be an unwanted advertisement, they automatically close the window. This can prevent WebCT from performing properly.
